It appears that CJ Wilson’s season is over. The 34 year-old lefty has had a reoccurrence of elbow inflammation that he pitched through all of last season.
Off season surgery was expected to clean up the problems but Wilson says that he has been pitching in pain since April.
Wilson continued to explain the bone spurs are expanding on both sides of his elbow. It has been determined that shutting him down for the remainder of the season is prudent. Wilson feels he cannot help the team any longer in his current condition. It was also explained that range of motion issues in his elbow could end up causing shoulder damage.
Since signing with Los Angeles, Wilson has made 30+ starts and an All-Star appearance in his first three seasons going 51-35 (.593 win %) with a 3.87 era.
Jered Weaver currently working his way through a rehab assignment and should be activated soon. Other candidates are Nick Tropeano and Drew Rucinski.
