The Boston Red Sox and Angels played game two of their game set, Saturday night at Fenway, The Angels bats came alive on Friday nigth, en route to a 12-5 victory over the Red Sox. The pitching match up for game two was C.J Wilson for the Angels and Steven Wright for the Red Sox.
The Angels were stymied most of the night by knucle baller Wright, as after a two-run first inning, he shut down the Angels hitters through his six and one -third innings of work. The Red Sox’ offense provided him with eight runs of support, with Mike Napoli, who continues to feast on Angels pitching, hitting two home runs off Wilson, as he picked up three RBI’s on the night. Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts each had two RBI nights and Blake Swihart had one RBI for the Red Sox. C.J Wilson did not have his best outing, as he gave up four runs in six innings of work before exiting the ballgame. For the Angels offense, Kole Calhoun had two RBI’S in the first, and Mike Trout added another run in the eighth, but the Angels would drop game two to the Red Sox, by the score of 8-3.
Angels’ Reliever Mike Morin left the ballgame in the seventh inning, and will be placed on the 15-day disabled list. A corresponding move will be announced prior to Sunday’s game.
