Perez made his 2016 debut on Tuesday at home against Seattle going 6 innings and giving up 2 earned runs in a game the Rangers eventually lost 10-2 thanks to an implosion by the Ranger bullpen after Perez exited the game. Overall, Perez is looking to stick in the Ranger rotation in 2016 after bouncing in and out over the last few years due to injury & ineffectiveness. It should be noted that Perez didn’t win a single game on the road last season.

After dealing with both minor injury & velocity issues during spring training, Jered Weaver will make his 2016 debut this afternoon. Weaver dealt with some neck stiffness and saw his fastball velocity drop to an alarming 80 miles per hour during spring training, but according to multiple reports was able to hit 86 miles per hour during a simulated game on Tuesday and is going into today’s start with his confidence level high.
