Los Angeles Angels escape from New York without getting swept out of the Bronx. Left-hander CJ Wilson took the hill to stop the bleeding. Wilson danced around the Yankees lineup giving up 12 base runners in 6 2/3 innings allowing only 1 run.

Wilson improved to 13-6 with a 3.40 ERA. With the Angels pitching struggles Wilson has been a standout performer.

Third baseman Chris Nelson had a career day against his former team. Claimed off waivers earlier in the season from New York; Nelson homered twice, including an 8th inning grand slam. The 27 year-old has taken over at the hot corner since the trade of incumbent Alberto Callaspo.

Los Angeles Angels tickets are available for the upcoming home stand to take on the Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians. This weekend is "Flashback Weekend" Angels Concert Series featuring tribute artists "Queen Nation" and "Rain".
