The Los Angeles Angels come home having lost two of three to the Texas Rangers to finish up the opening week of the 2013 season. And while the 2-4 start is uninspiring, for the Angels the bigger loss could be Jered Weaver to the disabled list.
Weaver was not particularly effective tonight against the Rangers pitching giving up 5 runs on 7 hits in just 5 innings. Weaver fell awkwardly on his left (fielding arm) to while trying to avoid being hit by a line drive off the bat of Mitch Moreland.
Weaver immediately was removed from the game and taken for x-rays which were negative.
After the game Weaver told reporters "it's pretty painful and swollen in there" adding he "didn't feel anything pop or crack".
The Angels are listing Weaver as "day to day"; it is unknown at this time if he will make his next start.
