Angels' Matt Shoemaker to make his Major League Debut
Anaheim - The Los Angeles Angels return home for their final homestand of the 2013 season. Jered Weaver was scheduled to start Friday's game, however he has been scratched from his start with a stiff forearm. In his place will be rookie Matt Shoemaker.
Shoemaker (26), has spent the past two seasons with the Salt Lake Bees going to 24-26, 5.32 ERA - 1.47 WHIP. His best minor league season was 2011 as a 24 year old posting a 12-7 record with a 3.15 ERA - 1.16 WHIP. Shoemaker features a fastball (90-93), splitter and slider.
Angels Tickets are available for the final home-stand against the Seattle Mariners featuring "Big Bang Friday" and "Fan Appreciation Day" September 20-22.
