The Los Angeles Angels in need of starting pitching have fast tracked left-handed pitcher Michael Roth, promoting him from Double-A Arkansas.

Roth (23) was selected in the 9th round (297th overall) in the 2012 amateur draft. A member of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, he was named First Team All-American in 2011.

The 6'1 201 lbs southpaw has just 27 innings of minor league experience under his belt for the Orem Owlz and Arkansas Travelers.

Los Angeles place RHP Kevin Jepsen and SS Erick Aybar on the 15 day disabled list. To make room for Roth and OF J.B. Schuck.
