The Los Angeles Angels, losers of 4 straight ballgames and in the midst of a 3-7 streak are heading to Boston's Fenway Park to take on the hated Red Sox.
Los Angels is now 9.5 games back of the AL West leading Texas Rangers in the 3rd place behind the Oakland Athletics. At 62-60; Mike Scioscia's ball-club need to get it in gear or their 2012 season will be over by early September. There is still hope. LA is only 4 games out of the Wild Card standings. Unfortunately there are 4 teams (Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Detroit & Oakland) to leap frog.
If the Halos are to make up ground now is the time. With a winning series in Boston the team can put away the Red Sox from the Wild Card. After this series a very important trip to Detroit.
A tough road ahead if the Angels starting pitching does not turn it around. Anaheim has a Major League Baseball worst 6.76 ERA in August.
