Anaheim, CA - The Angels lost back up catcher to the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday on a waiver claim.
The 29 year old was drafted by the Angels in the 48th round of the 2002 amatuer draft out of Seminole HS in Florida.
In 75 games for the Halos in 2012, Wilson had a slash line of .211/.277/.292/.569 with 3 homers and 13 RBI. Mainly a defensive backstop, Wilson is probably best known for catching Ervin Santana's No-Hitter vs. Cleveland in 2011.
With Wilson's departure it appears that the Angels are ready to move forward with Hank Conger as the main reserve catcher for incumbent Chris Iannetta who just signed a 3-year contract extension.
