Halo Waiver Wire: Perez, Choi, Tindall

  • With Cron going down with a broken hand and Geovany Soto returning, the Angels were forced to make more roster moves. The club’s depth has been all but completely used up this season, and all the Angels can really do to replenish that depth is to get healthy again… For next season.
  • Perez was struggling at the plate despite his 5 for 5 performance in Boston, with a .204 / .235 / .328 slash line. Carlos has given way to Jett Bandy, who is already showing good power and decent hitting ability at the Big League level.
  • Choi was hitting .327 / .411 / .485 at AAA Salt Lake, and was ready for another try with the big club. He will basically take Cron’s spot and perhaps even play some left field. This wil give Choi a good chance to prove his value to the club for 2017. It could really save the Halos some trouble with regrouping this offseason and adds a young option for them to bypass the need to dig into a weak farm system, and continue rebuilding their system. Choi jut has to do it.

  • Tindall was signed as an amateur free agent last season, and had a 6.03 ERA in 43 games for the Halos’ Arizona Fall League affiliate. The trade was merely for cash considerations.
