  • The Angels were dealt another big blow this past weekend when Cron was hit in his right hand with a pitch that left a fracture. The young slugger was on his way to a long-awaited break out season for the Halos. Now CJ will need surgery that will have him out for 6 to 8 weeks. Add him to the growing list of of players on the disabled list foe extended periods of time. We won’t even get into the statistics from the past two months for CJ. It’ll just make things worse.
  • Soto returned after about a two month stint on the DL after having arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee. He tore it while working out, by the way. The Halos catcher recovered from the surgery nicely but had a couple of setbacks during his rehab assignment, trying to regain the strength in the muscles and tendon around his knee. He went 0-4 in his first game back.

  • That was Tyler’s last start at AAA four days ago. He was scheduled for 90 pitches but get fatigue by the time he got to 70 pitches, and then was taken out at 73. This will cause the lefty to wait a couple extra days before his next start, but is in no way a major setback. Skaggs will be back in the Angels rotation in a couple of weeks, almost two years to the day since he last pitched on a Major League mound. We’re pulling for you Tyler! This ball club needs to get healthy before it can regroup for next season!
