Garrett Richards carried a no hitter through six innings, before allowing a single with one out in the seventh to Jason Castro. Before that Richards struck out ten Astros, and left with two outs and bases loaded, as he was relieved by Fernando Salas. The Angels were leading 3-1 at the time, as the offense provided Richards with three runs in the fifth, courtesy of a two-RBI single by Iannetta, and a sacrifice fly by Calhoun. That was all the offense needed, as Salas, got the last out in the seventh and Smith and Street pitched scoreless eighth and ninth respectively, as the Angels won the ball game 3-1 over the Astros.
